Dr. Thomas A. Pane Inducted Into the RealSelf Hall of Fame!

In May, Atlantic Coast Aesthetics was proud to announce our founder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Thomas A. Pane, had been named into the RealSelf 500. This elite designation recognizes cosmetic surgeons who go above and beyond to serve and inform their patients and the public about the realities of cosmetic surgery and what to expect. Obviously, it’s a proud achievement—and now Dr. Pane has set an even higher bar!

We were recently notified Dr. Pane has been inducted into the RealSelf Hall of Fame, a distinction shared by only 1,000 cosmetic surgeons around the globe. RealSelf says:

For eight years, the annual RealSelf 100 and 500 awards recognized doctors with outstanding records of high patient ratings who have given back to the RealSelf community by providing credible, valuable insights in response to consumer questions about elective cosmetic treatments ranging from surgical procedures to minimally invasive technologies to cosmetic dentistry. 

For the first time ever, RealSelf celebrates the Hall of Fame, a culmination of eight years of recognitions made through the RealSelf 100 and 500 awards program.

To be included in the RealSelf Hall of Fame, doctors must have received a RealSelf 100 or RealSelf 500 award in the past. The program, which first launched in 2010, honors the top-rated and most engaged board-certified aesthetic doctors on RealSelf. Doctors are ranked in three categories: earning patient reviews, answering consumer questions, and sharing before and after treatment photos. In order to be recognized in any given year, doctors must maintain the distinction of Top Doctor or Top Contributor and uphold an average rating above four stars.

Physicians earn the distinctions RealSelf bestows based on criteria including community engagement, quality of information and patient education, and evidence-based demonstrations of knowledge and practical application including pre- and post-treatment photographs.

As of press time, Dr. Pane enjoys a 4.3/5 rating from 80 onsite patient reviews. His profile has been viewed over 38,000 times and he has contributed nearly 400 expert answers to the RealSelf knowledge base. It is this dedication to advancing public knowledge and demonstrated professional skill which helped win Dr. Pane his place in the RealSelf Hall of Fame.

Dr. Pane’s medical career began when he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. After graduation he attended the University of Connecticut Health Center for medical school. His residency in emergency medicine was completed at Baystate Medical Center under the auspices of Tufts University in Springfield, Massachusetts, followed by his cosmetic surgery residency at Detroit Medical Center under the supervision of Wayne State University in Michigan. He maintains double board certification in both general surgery and cosmetic surgical medicine, and has been in active practice for over fourteen years. 

The popular Ask Dr. Pane video series, where he tackles questions about cosmetic surgery from patients who follow us on social media, has only underscored his ongoing commitment to expanding patient education, knowledge and safety in all facets of cosmetic surgery.
