Hymenoplasty
Hymenoplasty (Hymen Repair or Hymen Reconstruction) is performed to repair and reconstruct the thin ring-like skin membrane partially covering the opening of the vagina. The hymen is usually disrupted during the first intercourse; however tears may occur with strenuous physical activity, or by inserting a tampon. Most requests for hymen repair are from women that need an unbroken hymen for ethnic, cultural or religious reasons. Hymenoplasty is performed by our doctor for patients in our region. We understand the sensitivity of this procedure and respect our patients’ need for confidentiality.
